Events like the New River Trail Challenge are a fantastic way to connect with nature along the second oldest river on planet earth. The triathlon also raises much needed funds for the Friends of New River to maintain many parts of the park. Without sponsorships from companies like Dominion Energy, much of the race fees from the New River Trail Challenge would go to covering costs of the race instead of supporting this beautiful, accessible outdoor space that attracts visitors from all over the world. Come visit and see for yourself!
