Important Information Related to Trail Closures!

  Due to maintenance issues, the Shot Tower is closed for tours. The parking lot and restrooms remain available. Staff plan to continue point duty interpretation, weather dependent, on the decking outside entrance to answer questions on weekends (Saturday-Sundays).Parts of the New River Trail are closed due to a major renovation project that necessitated the closing of several trestles. The project is currently impacting the following sections of the trail:

The trail is closed from the Highway 52 trestle to the Austinville access.
